The 14 Victims of the Ecole Polytechnique Massacre December 6, 1989

In total, 28 people were shot on December 6, 1989 at Ecole Polytecnique in Montreal, Quebec, Canada – 20 of them were women – targeted specifically because they were women. Read more about these events at Dear Daughters.

In memory of the 14 women who lost their lives, the other victims of the shooting, and in the hopes of ending violence against women, Canada celebrates The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women every December 6.
